Joe McCreery is a long-time friend and donor to Mercy Health Foundation. His involvement began over 30 years ago with a minor fundraising effort and in 1986 he became a member of the Board of Directors, serving for three terms and chairing the Finance Committee for many of those years. He again served on the Board from 2001-2004, and was elected treasurer. "Those duties gave me insight into the needs for funds beyond the ordinary revenue stream," Joe said. With a banking background prior to retirement, he brought a great deal of expertise to the Foundation's budget and investment discussions. Joe has also been a regular at Foundation golf outings through the years.
"Foundation staff and directors have always been forward looking and enthusiastic about identifying and meeting hospital needs. It has been fun and rewarding to be a part of this organization," Joe said.
Today, he continues to serve as a community member of the Finance Committee. "I have always had faith in the care delivery of Mercy Medical Center: its doctors, staff, and quality of its facilities and equipment," he said. "In a small but rewarding way, work through Mercy Health Foundation has been one of my attempts to keep that quality for our community."
